CLEVELAND - Stuart M. Taylor, age 77, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at David Simpson Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland.
He was born on October 1, 1946, in Ames, IA, to Grady Joe Taylor, Jr. and Doris Jean (Riedesel) Taylor. A 1964 graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School in Shawnee Mission, KS. Stuart graduated in 1968 from St. in Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He then went to John Carroll.
Stuart at first wanted to teach Black History. A subject not taught at that school. So Social studies became the main subject he taught at John F. Kennedy High School for 37 years in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
He married Cynthia Robinson in 1975 who brought her only daughter, Nikole, who became a love of his life along with Cynthia.
Later in life after his divorce he was further blessed by the birth of another daughter Alexandria, who also filled his life with so much joy.
Known for his gentleness, kindness, and ready laughter, Stuart will be missed. Stuart is survived by his daughters: Nikole (Anthony) and Alexandria (Josh) ; his grandchildren: Ololade, Colton, Austin, and Dominique; his brother Timothy Taylor and sister Jill Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
And a burial service will be held in Minnesota in July.
