Dorothy Ipavec (née Steen) Age, 101 of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, passed peacefully at her residence on May 10, 2024. She was born on July 22, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Arthur and Grace Steen.
Dorothy had an affectionate smile, very easy going, and quick to laugh. She loved people, nature, and hiking. She was a member of the Cleveland Hiking Club (CHC) for over 75 years. She had so much fun hiking, she discovered so many different things about life, and nature. CHC is where she met Andrew Ipavec, he was a member of the hiking club as well.
In 1956 Dorothy married the now late Andrew (Andy) Ipavec. She worked many years for Sherman Williams, she also worked as a Lab technician for Union Carbide.
Throughout her life, she embodied grace, and healthy expression of needs, desires, and always emanating a sense of warmth and compassion that endeared her to all.
She did volunteer work for many organizations, such as Meals on Wheels. Her legacy of love, care, and laughter that she shared, will always be remembered and cherished. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she left behind. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Ipavec, her parents, Arthur Steen, and Grace Smith Steen, and her sister Martha Steen Denton.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her nephew; Robert Fielding Denton II, her niece; Kathryn D. Behm, and many grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Dorothy did not wish to have any services, but that her final interment be at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband.
