Under the will and admission of our Heavenly Father our beloved Barbara A. Goard passed November 19,2022, signing off on a life, in the words of many, “angelic and transformative for everyone she encountered.” God thankfully broke the mold after Barbara was born to the late Flocie Goard and George Knox on February 10, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio. Being born during the Civil Rights Movement shaped Barbara’s formative years and resulted in a bad mother***… I’m going to shut my mouth but I’m just talking about Barbie Ann! Being the second eldest was a dubious task but she was up for the challenge and led and guided her siblings through a childhood smiles and early responsibilities, with her sister, Cynthia generally serving as her wingwoman. Barbara started her long and illustrious career as a Computer Scientist working with the government at the federal building in Cleveland then transferring to Defense Supply Center Columbus and Defense Logistics Agency. Her service to country and community didn’t end with her retiring in 2016. Barbara was an avid Church Goer, Union President, Chairwoman with the 100 Black Women Columbus, serial Philanthropist and so much more. Besides her handsome well-dressed son Aaron Grady. Left with decades of fond and colorful memories are her 8 beautiful supporting cast she navigated through life with Frederick “Fred” Crawford of Cleveland, OH, Darnell Goard of Atlanta, GA, Cynthia, Keith, Stefan, Antoinette,Bernadette , and Eric Goard (Tonya) of Cleveland, OH, a host of nieces and nephews.  

 Donations may be sent to the Goard residence, 6167 Albany Crest Ave, Columbus, OH 43054.
